EU Settlement Scheme - advice for businesses and employers

EU Settlement Scheme for businesses and employers

What is the EU Settlement Scheme?

If any of your employees are EU, EEA or Swiss citizens, they and their family can apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to continue living and working in the UK after 30 June 2021. If the application is successful, you'll get either settled or pre-settled status. The EEA includes the EU countries and also Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.

How will it benefit my employees?

Using the scheme will mean that they are eligible for public services, such as healthcare and schools, public funds and pensions and British citizenship, if they want to apply and meet the requirements.

The government's employer toolkit contains a range of ready to use leaflets and posters to help explain the scheme to your employees.

Check what your employees need to do to stay in the UK if they or their family are from the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland.
