Located in a central Staines location, adjacent to the M25, The Green Business Centre is a scheme of business units designed for small businesses.

Funding for Startups

One of the biggest stumbling blocks for a new business is how to access the finance required to grow. However, if you have a viable business proposition, there are solutions. Below is a list of organisations who offer grants and loans to startups.

UK Government Startup Loans

Apply for a government-backed startup loan of £500 to £25,000 to start or grow your business. Unlike a business loan, this is an unsecured personal loan.

You'll get free support and guidance to help write your business plan, and successful applicants get up to 12 months of free mentoring.

To apply for this loan you must live in the UK, be over 18 and have (or plan to start) a UK-based business that's been fully trading for less than 24 months.

British Business Bank

The aim of the British Busines Bank is to make financial markets work better for small businesses in the UK at all stages of their development, whether that be starting up, scaling up or staying ahead.

The British Business Bank is 100% Government-owned but independently managed. It brings expertise and Government money to the smaller business finance markets. The bank does not hold or invest directly. Instead, they work with over 100 partners such as banks, leasing companies, venture capital funds and web-based platforms.

Fredericks Foundation

As mentioned on our main Business Support page, the Fredericks Foundation is an excellent support organisation which operate across England and Wales.

The Foundation is also a responsible finance provider that provides loans to people who want to set up a business. Fredericks is open to anyone who they believe has a worthwhile idea, but cannot obtain mainstream funding.
