Great Big Green Week sees involvement in climate change action across the Borough

Last month saw a number of events take place in the Borough to mark Great Big Green Week – a nationwide celebration of action on climate change. One local business, Your Energy Your Way, kindly volunteered their time to help host a green skills event for local high school students, held in partnership with the Council and the Elmbridge and Runnymede Youth Hub.

After enjoying an introduction from the Mayor of Runnymede, Cllr Saise-Marshall, students learnt about how to make and install solar panels, and how they can be used to power a whole range of everyday items.

If your business is interested in giving back to the local community, the Elmbridge and Runnymede Youth Hub is always looking for new businesses to offer their skills and expertise. Get in touch at [email protected] if you would like to find out more.

Have your say on how the Council can work with businesses to tackle climate change

Runnymede Borough Council are inviting local businesses and organisations to answer questions which explore views on climate change and approaches around energy and water use, transport and travel, and purchasing.

Responses will provide valuable insight into some of the difficulties and/or opportunities businesses and organisations face in acting on climate change, and how we could provide support through our climate change action plan.

You can participate in the climate change survey by clicking the link below. The Council will also be holding focus groups on Wednesday 19 July and Monday 24 July for an informal discussion about the challenges and opportunities faced in taking climate change action. If you're interested in finding out more please contact [email protected]
