Runnymede Businesses have until Friday 17 March to apply for a grant worth up to £3,000 towards the cost of developing or marketing a new product. Over £500,000 has already been paid to businesses in the wider region to develop and enhance their product range.

The grant can be used to contribute towards a range of activities, including market research, product design, prototyping, testing, branding, and marketing.

The British Chambers of Commerce have just launched their Quarterly Economic Survey (QES) for Q1 of 2023. The QES is the largest and longest-running business survey in the UK and is a powerful tool for representing the voice of business to Government. Completing the survey is an excellent way to express your concerns and to help shape future government policy.

The Business Women in Surrey (BWIS) network, in association with Surrey Chambers of Commerce, is holding a lunch at the De Vere Horsley Estate to celebrate International Women’s Day 2023. The keynote speaker is the Diversity & Inclusion Thought Leader, author, and CEO Teresa Boughey. Please note that there is a fee to attend this event.

In the latest of a series of Government-funded courses on international trade, this month Surrey Chambers of Commerce are offering a free course on the procedures you need to know when importing goods from abroad.

The course will cover import documentation and procedures, commercial considerations, the importance of your purchase order, calculating VAT and duty, and how to reduce import customs clearance delays. Incoterms® and their impact on importing will be shown, along with an introduction to duty regimes to help importers.
